Hello, I am Allie Benton or as everyone here in Columbus know me as, Andrew’s wife. I always joke about this title as belittling, because that is all I am known as, “Andrew’s wife.”  Though it is funny, over the years, I am extremely proud to have this title.
I personally have obligations of my own, raising our two boys, working as an RN in the women’s department here at our Columbus hospital, serving with my family at First Cumberland Presbyterian church, and playing in our local Suzuki Strings ensemble. Above all of these obligations that I adore so greatly, I find much gratification working alongside my husband.
Andrew and I have been together since we were 13 years old, we have been through a lot of seasons in our life together. He always talked about working close with family and having a family business of his own. Throughout the years of working alongside Andrew I have watched him grow from doing small jobs out of the back of a loaded down SUV to a prestigious business owner here in Columbus with fine technicians of his own. Starting a business is not easy at all, but it has been highly rewarding.  I may not do all the “dirty work” with the guys, but I do all the behind the scenes work from invoicing, customer service, banking and more.  My biggest task is keeping Andrew straight. With all jokes aside, I cannot wait to see what else Columbus has in store for the Benton family I couldn’t be any prouder to have the title “Andrew Benton’s Wife”.

My name is John Logan Shackelford. I grew up in West Point, but lived here in Columbus for the past 8 years. I graduated at Columbus high school and then went to EMCC for electrical technology. I have six years of industrial, commercial, and residential electrical experience and excited about learning new things every day. I was employed by Mercier Electric in West Point for three years where I traveled all over Mississippi wiring Dollar Generals. I spent a lot of time in Paccar and Yokohama doing various jobs for them as well while with Mercier. I worked for Advanced Electric in Columbus for over a year where we did commercial and residential wiring. I enjoy spending time with family and friends on the weekend and travel every chance I get. I love Mississippi State athletics and going to Starkville for games when I’m able. Making sure our customers are happy with the work that I’ve done for them and making sure that the job is done right is my biggest priority here at Benton’s M&M.

Since Andrew Benton was old enough to tote a tool bag he has been fixing things. At age ten he rebuilt his first toilet. Every summer when he was little he would help his aunt manage her rental properties and repair anything from water heaters to ceiling fans. After graduating high school he graduated top of his class with an Associates in Heating and Air Conditioning Technology from Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. He furthered his education at the Mississippi University for Women and earned a Bachelors in Business Management. With this education and hands on experience he excels in providing quality service and money-saving solutions for his customers.
